Our seventh annual camp for girls ages 9-13 will be June 19th-23rd this year. We will facilitate activities including learning knife skills, yoga, goat and chicken care, natural dying, farm games, cheesemaking, piemaking, tending veggies, canning, popsicle making, journaling, and basic bike maintenance. This year, we will also have a special visit from local midwife Dawn Dana to talk about her work and demonstrate basic prenatal care. The campers will create the community intention for the week, set guidelines for the group, practice chores, create tasty food, and practice self care and celebration all week, and most especially on "farm spa day" (goat milk baths, foot scrubs, massage, mud facials, etc.)

The facilitators this year will be Grace Malloy, Shanti Sandosham, Clio Calvin, Ireland Donnelly, Tierni Donnelly and Rose Gold Calvin.

COVID SAFETY PLAN: Our programs are held entirely outside, without masks unless a participant would like to wear one. We will ask anyone who feels sick or has had exposure to someone who feels sick to stay home, and will assess their exposure to the group, with plenty of communication with all families involved. If anyone has had extra levels of exposure prior to coming to camp (travel, mega indoor gatherings, etc.) we will ask that they test at home before coming to camp.

Grace Bueti Malloy co-owns Poco Farm with her husband Dan and son Early. There, she learns alongside lots of children about how to be closer with our food and fiber systems. The 2 acre urban farm is home to laying chickens, dairy goats, sometimes pigs and meat chickens, citrus, stonefruit, herbs, and more. Grace is also on the board of the Ojai Community Farmers’ Market on Thursdays.
